Rubye Olivia Eason Kennedy

Kennedy, Rubye Eason, our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend went home to her Lord January 25, 2022 at the age of 89. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tom H. Kennedy, Sr., parents, James Lafayette and Bernice Olivia Eason, her brothers, Robert Leon Eason and James Lafayette Eason Jr., sister, Alice Ruth Blackburn (Burney), sons Tom H. Kennedy Jr., and James Eason Kennedy, daughter, Elizabeth Wren Kennedy, and grandson, Christopher Hugh Levering. Left behind to cherish her beautiful memory are her children, MaryAlice Kennedy, Kimberly Kennedy Hingers, (Gregg), Olivia Dawn Levering (Martin), Patrick Lafayette Kennedy (Len), Heather Leigh Lackey (Bobb), George Huntley “Chip” Kennedy (Leanne), and Robert William Kennedy (Hayley). Grandchildren to carry on her legacy include, Jamie, Cory, Lauren, Alyssa, Olivia, Sarah, Andrew, Jennings, Kaylen, Samantha, Georgia, Shelby, Alexandria, Peyton, Madelyne and Ian. Eli, Leo, Brantley, Tanner, and Tate were treasured by their Great Grandma. Mrs. Kennedy was retired from the State of Alabama, Montgomery Dental Health, and City of Prattville, where she served as the Clerk/Treasurer. She was a life-long member of First United Methodist Church of Prattville, and served in leadership positions in Pilot Club, Business and Professional Women, City Clerks Association, and the Autauga County Board of Registrars. She delivered Meals on Wheels, taught Sunday School, prepared dinners, and served in various ministries throughout her life. Many individuals were impacted by her good words and deeds. Keeping Christ in the center of her life and instilling the importance of a personal relationship with our Savior was paramount. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Prattville Memorial Chapel with Rev. Kim Hingers officiating. Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service with graveside to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to the First United Methodist Church of Prattville, for the Backpack ministry or building fund - 100 E. 4th Street, Prattville, AL 36067. Pallbearers will be Martin Levering, Pat Kennedy, Bobb Lackey, Chip Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, Andrew Levering and Cory Kennedy. The family would like to personally thank the staff and numerous friendships made at Prattville Health & Rehabilitation. For your kindness, love, and care during Mom’s final years on this earth, you were loved “the mostest”. In the true spirit of Mom, find someone who needs your kindness and then be a servant.
