James "Tony" Anthony LaPorte Jr.

James "Tony" Anthony LaPorte, Jr., 51, a resident of Wetumpka, Alabama, passed away at his home on July 17, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Tony was born March 2, 1975, in Montgomery, AL. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother and uncle whose love for his family was evident in everything he did. He shared 27 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Robin, building a life together filled with love, faith in Jesus, commitment, and cherished memories with their son, Dylan. He was proceeded in death by his father, James Anthony LaPorte, Sr. Tony is survived by his loving wife Robbie "Robin" Ramona LaPorte; their son James Dylan LaPorte; loving mother Dorothy LaPorte Ivy; sister Lisa (Mack) Hill; Uncle Wayne Jeffcoat; brothers-in-law Troy (Kathy) Patterson and Brad Patterson, Sr.; Niece Mackenzi Hill (Joe Freda); and Nephew Mason (Emily) Hill. Nephew Austin Patterson and niece Ashley (David) Driscoll. He is also survived by many close family members Johnny and Christy Johnston; Andrew, Kyrstin, Bowen and Kollyns Rose Robinson; Steve and Stacy Steinke; Jackson and Lake Worthy-Gilbert; Vicky and Al Thompson; Chance Worthy; Lila and Sonny Broadway; Butch and Judy Patterson, Debbie and James, Buddy Broadway, Bill Broadway, Dave Patterson, Jamie Snider and Adam Snider. Tony had many friendships that he cherished in his career while working with the State of Alabama for over 23 years and currently with The Poarch Creek Indians, Wind Creek Casino & Hotel Montgomery working as an IT Technician with IT Operations for the past eight years. He was a faithful member of Mulder Church and enjoyed growing his faith as a follower of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in small group classes and the Lost and Found Sunday School class. Tony's kindness, love, and unwavering devotion to his family will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories. Pallbearers will be Mack Hill, Johnny Johnston, Andrew Robinson, Chance Worthy, Jamie Snider, with his precious son, Dylan LaPorte, whom he loved so much, serving as Honorary Pallbearer. The family will receive friends for visitation at 10:00 a.m. followed by a celebration of life beginning at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 23, 2026 at Mulder Church, 3454 Firetower Road, Wetumpka, Alabama, with Pastor Jonathan Hart officiating. Graveside services will follow at Kaylor Cemetery, 4936 Rigsby Road, Tallassee, Alabama, 36078.
