Donald Ray Weaver

Donald Ray Weaver, 79, slipped into glory Saturday, December 20, 2025, after a recent illness. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia, of the home; daughters, Doreen Carter and husband, Mike of San Antonio, TX; Nancy Griego and husband, Steve of Albuquerque, NM; Scarlett Burden and husband, Chris of Aulander, NC; son, Darrek Weaver and wife, Christie of Millbrook, AL; son, Brett Weaver of Cullman, AL; and brother, Larry Weaver and wife, Martha of Vinemont, AL; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Monday, December 29, 2025, at 1:00 pm with Prattville Memorial Chapel providing arrangements. Donald Ray Weaver, born on 2/20/1946, lived a life filled with passion, purpose, and unwavering determination. He embraced every challenge with grace and faced adversity with unwavering strength. Throughout his journey, he touched the lives of countless people with kindness, wisdom, and infectious laughter. Don never met a stranger, and never failed to tell you about his children, grandchildren and animals. He loved to share quotes from the bible and great books he had read. He was a kind and loving father to his children. He loved his dogs Trixie and Bobby and his cat Dusty. Anyone that knew him knew his love for his animals. He is pre-deceased by his wife and mother of his children, Mary Lee Weaver, his parents James Weaver and Wilda Hyche, son Lowell Griffith and granddaughter Abigail Walls. Don served in the US Air Force for nine years, after which he worked for the US Postal service until retirement. He was an avid reader and could always recommend a good book. He was faith filed and could quote any verse of the bible and how it related to current life situations. He loved people and was always helping others out in need. He loved the outdoors and appreciated the beauty of nature. He loved his friends as family. In remembering Don Weaver, we honor the vibrant spirit that radiated from within him. He had an insatiable curiosity and a zest for life that was contagious. He had the ability to make everyone around him feel valued and heard, he had a remarkable way of brightening even the darkest of days. As we bid farewell to Don Weaver, we carry his spirit within us, cherishing the memories and lessons he bestowed upon us. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his light continue to guide us through the darkest moments.
