BURKHALTER, William “Chief” Alvin, 92, resident of Prattville, AL passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. from Autaugaville Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Gillyard officiating. Burial will follow at Prattville Memory Gardens with Prattville Memorial directing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Burkhalter; parents, Erskin and Claudia Burkhalter; son, Freddie Vanatta; two sisters, Melba Hunsinger and Barbara Ramer and one brother, Tony Burkhalter. He is survived by his daughter, Sheryl Wainwright (Steve); three grandchildren, Daniel Wainwright (Taylor), Aaron Wainwright and Dale Patterson; two great-grandchildren, Will Wainwright and Annie Wainwright; one brother, Charles Burkhalter (Barbara); four sisters-in-law, Mary Burkhalter, Dolly Hooberry, Sandra Hooberry and Bonnie Hooberry; aunt, Frances Burkhalter; several nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be Daniel Wainwright, Aaron Wainwright, Max Burkhalter, Randy Burkhalter, Jeremy Carter, Paul Bowen and Tanner Golden. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday one-hour prior to the service.
