Paul Allen Anglin

May 27, 1937 - May 21, 2021

ANGLIN, Paul Allen, 83, was born and raised near Bruce, Mississippi, where he was a member of Bruce Methodist Church for many years. After graduating from Bruce High School he served four years in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS General JC Breckenridge. After his college years at Northwest Junior College and the University of Southern Mississippi, Paul moved to Alabama and married Alice Faye Dozier, who survives him. They were married for 14 years and served together at Snowden Baptist Church, Montgomery, AL, during most of that time. Paul went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, May 21, 2021, six days before his 84th birthday. Mr. Anglin was preceded in death by his loving mother, Mary Inez Cannon Anglin; father, Everett Alonzo Anglin. He is survived by his two children, Paula Anglin Thomas (Terry), Prattville, AL and Catherine Anglin Mehlhoff (Mike), Alabaster, AL. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Deanna Mehlhoff Webb (Jeremiah), Beavercreek, OH and Hannah Mehlhoff Koivisto (Alan), Madison, MS; one great-grandchild, Adaline Faye Webb; six siblings, Mary Anglin Ford, Pontotoc, MS, Larry Charles “Buddy” Anglin (Vesha), Albany, GA, William Cannon “Billy” Anglin (Bettie), Montgomery, AL, Lindsay Joe Anglin (Ginger), Biloxi, MS, Hilda Anglin Hornbeak (Robert), Memphis, TN, Nancy Anglin Scott (Scottie), Ozark, AL; thirteen nieces and nephews. Paul “Daddy or Grandaddy” Anglin’s love for his family and friends shown brightly through the sacrificial giving of his time and money. He never turned a blind eye to a person in need. After retiring from 21 years of teaching in the Montgomery school system, Paul lived the good life of being a servant, playing cards with his buddies, buying and selling at the local flea market, spoiling his two granddaughters, hosting family holiday parties and gathering with his siblings as often as he could. Paul was loved by family, friends, and anyone who met him, and he will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to one’s favorite charity. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021 from Prattville Memorial Chapel at 11:00 with Pastor Rick Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo, AL at 1:15 pm. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial on Thursday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.
