Joseph Charles Surette, Jr., 53, resident of Millbrook, AL, passed away with his family by his side on November 10, 2021. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Prattville Memorial Chapel with George Jones officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday at Prattville Memorial from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Joe Surette was preceded in death by his beloved mother Joan Surette. He is survived by his daughter Amber Lynn Barber (Kenny), son Tanner Blanton Surette, two grandsons Kameron Leo Barber, Brodie Michael Barber, sister Janelle Surette, partner Theresa “Terry” Rutherford, nieces and one nephew, extended family and many friends. Joe was a devoted father, grandfather, friend and coach. His passion in life was serving others. He found his love for the game of baseball and softball through coaching young kids that quickly became his children. He started with coaching boys baseball and continued coaching his girls in softball. His greatest accomplishment was competing in the World Series. He cared for his players as his own. Joe, also known as Pops, made sure his door was always open to all of his kids. He poured his heart and soul into raising these children/young adults into athletes and being available to them through every aspect of their lives. Joe enjoyed fishing in his spare time. He loved the water and the outdoors. He enjoyed cooking and spending time around the fire. He always tried to find a way to serve others and found happiness making sure everyone around him was taken care of. The love Joe had for his family and friends is an indescribable type of love. To know him was to love him.
