Ernest Allen Goodson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

GOODSON, Ernest Allen, 86, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021. He was born January 12, 1935, to Jesse and Lillian Barber Goodson. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 11:00 am from Prattville Memorial Chapel with Rev. Larry McEndarfer and Rev. Josh Hillestad officiating. Burial will follow at Prattville Memory Gardens with Prattville Memorial directing. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial on Friday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Mr. Goodson was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, John, Howard, Ralph, and Lawrence Goodson. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Annette Flowers Goodson; daughter, Deborah Hillestad (Danny); three sons, Benjamin Goodson, David Goodson (Mary) and Daniel Goodson (Cassandra); six grandchildren, Joshua Hillestad (Maggie), Elizabeth Roberts (Anthony), Mariah Lesley (Aaron), Marcus Goodson, Micah Goodson and Emily Goodson; four great-grandchildren, Sophia Roberts, Reagan Hillestad, Pamela Hillestad and Timothy Hillestad; sister, Mary Ruth Wilson; brother, Clarence Goodson (Ann); sisters-in-law, Gloria Goodson, Barbara Goodson DeVaughn, Dollie Flowers (Travis), Jeanette Kennedy (George) and June Holmes (John). Mr. Goodson was a highly respected electrical contractor, founded Goodson Electric in 1958 and was known for his excellent work, his integrity, and his kindness. In later years he was also a home builder and took great pride in those creations. He was a member of Pentecostal Life Church in Montgomery. In addition to his love for his Lord, his wife and family, he loved flying and was passionate about aviation and sharing that passion.
