Olive Schumm

SCHUMM, Olive, a resident of Prattville, AL has been called home to our Father on September 29, 2018. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday October 3rd at 1:00pm at Prattville Memorial Gardens. Burial will follow in Prattville Memorial Gardens with Pratt memorial chapel directing. Mrs. Schumm proudly supported her husband who served his country for 23 years as a veteran of the USAF. Mrs. Schumm retired from Maxwell AFB AAFES after 18 years as a customer service representative. Olive was very involved in the church community and their many groups including the Sewing Bee’s with Val, Ginny, Barb, Nancy and many others. She was a member of Knitters and helped startup the English Wives Club years ago. Her biggest joy was her family and spending time with everyone. Olive was proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry, of 55 years. Her brothers Billy and Harry, her brothers-in-law Trevor Plant and Brian Sims, sisters-in-law Pauline and Dilys, nieces Mandy Plant and Janice Cartwright and a great granddaughter Mckinley Grace Howard. She is survived by several brothers and sisters in England: Alan, Terry and his wife, Dorothy, Dorothy Sim’s, Iris Plant, and Frank Cartwright and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her husband’s sister-in-law Velma Schumm and nieces Kitty, Alice, Sara, and Meg, one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Mark Howard Atlanta, GA; Three sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald and Tracy Schumm, Atlanta, GA, Darrel and Susan Schumm, Warm Springs, GA, David and Meriam Schumm, Atlanta, GA; seven grandchildren, Carman Allison, Jeannie Calhoun-Cheng, Matthew Howard, Ashley Schumm, David A. Schumm, Daniel Schumm and Lucas Schumm. Also survived by 10 great grandchildren Pallbearers will be sons Darrel Schumm, David Schumm, grandsons Matthew Howard, Daniel Schumm, Lucas Schumm, David Schumm, PJ Webb, and nephew Frank Cartwright Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Cartwright, Sr. and Gerald P. Schumm, Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
