Lucienne Marie Printy

Lucienne M. “Luci” Printy, 93, a long-time resident of Prattville, AL, died on Thursday, April 23, 2020 after a long fight with Alzheimer’s disease, and is now reunited with her loving husband of 55 years, Tom Printy. Born on October 30, 1926, Luci was a native of Brussels, Belgium to Francois Desire Bilmans and Madeleine Everaert Bilmans. After losing her first husband, Robert Brandes, she made the brave decision to move to the United States to live close to her sister, Blanche, and begin a new chapter of her life. She then met her soon-to-be husband, Tom, in Eglin AFB/Valparaiso, Fla., where they married and had their daughter, Linda. After 15 years of Air Force life, which took them to Germany twice, the Printys settled in Prattville, Ala. Luci was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Prattville, singing in the choir and getting together with the church ladies, especially her “French” friends, Colette and Nenette. She also sang in the Prattville Community Chorus, where she held various offices. She was also the consummate cook and seamstress, and enjoyed crafting along the way, making jewelry and other beautiful pieces for others. But most of all, she was a devoted wife and mother, and left a mark on many with her sweet, gentle spirit and laugh. She also made a deep impression on her caregivers at Waterford Place and John Knox Manor, who enjoyed her laughter, which became her signature personality trait in recent years. She is survived by her loving daughter, Linda Printy Lee, and son-in-law, Tom Lee, of Wetumpka; sister Blanche M. Bizzarri of Riverview, FL; and many devoted nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Tom, she is predeceased by her parents and brother, Andre Bilmans. A limited graveside service will be held at Prattville Memory Gardens this Saturday and a full service/reception will be held at a later date at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. The family would like to express a special thank-you to the nurses and CNAs and other staff at John Knox Manor for the TLC they provided to Luci, and Jackie “Nenette” Christensen and Vicky Fraunfelder for their devotion and loyal visits to my mother for the last seven years.
