John Daniel Ousley

John Daniel Ousley July 31, 1946 – March 22, 2023 John Daniel Ousley (known as Danny), 76, of Prattville, Alabama, passed away March 22, 2023, at home surrounded by his family and loved ones after a long battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). He was born July 31st, 1946, as the 5th born to Bruce Ousley and Edna Earl Herrod, followed by his 6 brothers and 4 sisters in their home in Plantersville, Alabama. He graduated from Billingsley High School, where he developed lifelong friendships and an appreciation for learning. His childhood was an idyllic time in his life, which he recalled fondly. Danny has accomplished many honorable achievements throughout his life. He served in the ARMY in the Vietnam War from 1966 - 1968. During that time, he fought and served his country proudly and met the love of his life, Gloria June Calloway, who have been happily married for 57 years. He was a proud member and Decan at Alpine Baptist Church. He was dedicated to his faith and love in God. He worked at International Paper (Union Camp) for 38 years before retiring and continued to work and support his wife Gloria with running her flea market business up until her retirement. While he enjoyed working, he was always a family man at heart. He took pride in taking care of his loved ones and touched the hearts of many. He lived and thrived for helping and serving others. He would do anything from making jokes, offering advice, be a listening ear or a helpful hand to those in need, whether big or small, he was always there to support others. Danny leaves behind his wife, Gloria Ousley. His only child, Jason (Shanna) Ousley. His grandchildren, Lacey (Curt) Bost, Mason (Nikki) Ousley, Keirah and Brandon Laister. His great grandchildren, Audrey and Adrien Bost, and Eli Ousley. Followed by his siblings, Faye Ousley, James Ousley, Gene (Brenda) Ousley, Brenda (John) Mickler, Wayne (Libby) Ousley, Pam Ousley, Mary (Tony) Nichols, and Edna (Billy) Hester. Along with many nieces and nephews. He will be joining and rejoicing in heaven with his 3 brothers, Bill, Joe, and Charles Ousley. Followed by his sister Martha Ousley, nephew Clifford Ousley, Joe’s wife, Sandra Ousley and James wife, Bobbie Ousley. Pallbearers – Bert Ousley, Rusty Ousley, Ricky Ousley, Brian Ousley, Kyle Mickler and Neal Ousley. Honorary Pallbearers – Chris Ousley, Tracy Nichols, Thomas Hester, Barry Ousley, Jody Ousley, Roy Ousley, Bruce Mickler, Steven Ousley and Craig Nichols.
